The AP Macroeconomics Test has grown in popularity in recent years, as more and more students look to place out of Econ 101.  Scores are been somewhat inconsistent within a confined range.  Scores at the top end have been improving since a low of 36.1% 4s and 5s in 2006.

The test includes a 70 minute multiple-choice section (66% of the score) and a 60 minute free-response section (33% of the score).  The free-response section includes a mandatory 10 minute reading period.  1   The exam measures a student's understanding of economics as a whole, with emphasis on national income, performance measures, policy, growth, money supply, the Federal Reserve, trade and finance. 1
